Production Monitoring Engineer in Alcor

What you will be doing as a Production Monitoring Engineer? 

- perform monitoring systems applications probes configuration as well as probes integration with linked systems on production infrastructure; 

- plan and execute application probes updates and configuration whenever required ensuring safe day-to-day systems observability. Be ready to develop, create and operate extra tools or services whenever needed; 

- execute the preparations for monitoring, alerting, status page system upgrades, and the following maintenance on the production environments. So ensure accurate monitoring as well as provide control that all changes are done in a documented way; 

- document monitoring system requirements for Engineering/Service Design teams to review and analyze; 

- document the setup of production monitoring/application monitoring details in order to build a safe and reliable knowledge base; 

- as a monitoring expert you will have a key role to identify and implement practices, skills, etc to deliver constant improvement; 

- report implementation, configuration progress to the Team Lead as required; 

- liaise with the Engineering, ServiceDesign, infrastructure, and Customer Support teams to ensure the delivery of the end-to-end monitoring for Company managed solutions. 

Knowledge & Experience: 

- good practical experience with Unix (preferably Ubuntu), including scripting (shell, etc); 

- good knowledge of networks, network protocols; 

- good experience with monitoring systems; 

- hands-on experience with monitoring probes setup; 

- practical skills for monitoring a virtualized environment(EKS experience is highly welcomed); 

- basic knowledge of generic SQL database concepts and operations; 

- experience with preparing technical documentation.
