We work in areas such as education, child protection, food security and social support, and we also carry out advocacy activities aimed at ensuring lasting changes in the lives of children.

Purpose of the position:

This position assumes responsibility for the effective implementation of SC Ukraine's data management system and new technological systems, ensuring their compliance with Save the Children's mission, vision and values. This includes actively participating in digital data collection, validation and reporting processes to maintain high standards of data quality and integrity. This position will assist the Information Management department in implementing and improving MEAL related tools such as Monday.com, CommCare and Kobo Toolbox while developing the skills and knowledge of SC staff and implementing partners in information management and digital technologies to effectively use these systems. Promoting transparency, accuracy and continuous improvement, this position will contribute to the collection and presentation of information for evidence-based decision-making, training and program accountability.
The role also includes conducting post-distribution monitoring (PDM) following financial activities such as CVA, FSL and C4P (protection money) payments, which includes coordinating data collection, data cleaning and analysis, and preparing comprehensive reports. Additionally, the position ensures that all relevant data is available in trackers, systems and systems to support program activities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Information systems and data architecture

  • Facilitating data collection from field teams and SC partners (e.g., CommCare, Monday.com, Kobo Toolbox, PRIME).
  • Ensure monthly accurate activity reporting to database, CommCare, Kobo Toolbox.
  • Manage and update application trackers and cumulative data tables using designated software platforms (eg, Monday.com, Kobo Toolbox) to ensure accurate and timely data entry and display.
  • Develop automated systems to support information processing and data sharing between teams at regional office level.
  • Responsible for regular data quality checks (DQC) for regions to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability of all data applications collected through CommCare, KoboToolbox and partner reports.
  • Support the design and development of digital forms, pass logic, validation rules and user profiles, including Kobo forms and the CommCare app.
  • Ensure compliance with SCI's global and local data protection policies (GDPR, child protection policy)
Data quality and analysis

  • analyze data using Excel, Power Query, or other tools as needed.
  • Apply validation rules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure monthly accurate submission of database activity reports from CommCare and Kobo Toolbox etc.
  • Regularly coordinate with program teams, MEAL and partners to ensure smooth data flow, timely troubleshooting and accurate reporting.
  • Regularly triangulate data through regular spot checks MoV.
  • Correct any discrepancies in coordination with field teams and partners.
  • Automate information management and information sharing processes in the regional office.

Dashboards, visualization and reporting

  • Development, automation and support of Power BI dashboards for application teams and MEAL.• Creation of visualizations that support decision making, including dashboards by sectors/territories.
  • Artproducing short reports, maps, tables, infographics and presentations.
  • Conduct regular post-distribution monitoring surveys on CVA/FSL/C4P activities to understand the level of beneficiary satisfaction with beneficiary registration process, distribution, amount and use of cash, etc.
  • Prepare and submit post-distribution monitoring (PDM) reports, summarizing key findings, beneficiary feedback, and practical recommendations for program improvement.
  • Contribute to donor reports based on collected PDM data.

Capacity development

  • Conduct refresher courses for SC staff and partners on data quality standards.
  • Provide training, ongoing guidance and very close technical support to partners field teams on the use of data collection tools (eg, CommCare, Kobo Toolbox).
  • Provide ongoing technical support and proactive coordination with program staff and partners to maintain data quality, troubleshoot issues, and improve information messaging workflows
  •  Promote digital data collection and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Degree in sociology, pedagogy, statistics or any other relevant field.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the mission, the vision and values of Save the Children, and ensure their wider application by program staff.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive, with qualities such as patience, tact and diplomacy.• Proactive, adaptive and flexible: Be adaptable, flexible and ready to cooperate in complex and uncertain work environments.

Work experience (required)

  • Previous 2 years of information management experience or MEAL program experience in non-governmental organizations.
  • Excellent skills in working with MS Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Experience developing dashboards in Power BI (or Tableau).
  • Ability to manage large data sets and ensure data quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with very limited supervision and support

Work experience (preferred)

  • Previous experience with Save the Children and understanding of SC MEAL systems and tools.
  •  Data visualization and presentation experience.
