The Data Analyst will independently analyze financial data, reconcile datasets, and develop insightful reports & templates, with a strong focus on understanding business requirements to create and enhance reports. The role involves automating workflows, collaborating with finance and other teams, and proactively proposing best approaches and innovative ideas to drive data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop advanced Google Sheets formulas (e.g., QUERY, ARRAYFORMULA, FILTER, MATCH, INDEX, INDIRECT, LET) for financial analytics and reporting.
• Automate repetitive tasks (e.g., copy-paste workflows) using formulas and scripts, optimizing performance for large datasets (10k+ rows).
• Maintain and troubleshoot Google Apps Scripts for data imports, automation, and range protection.
• Collect, clean, validate, and analyze financial data (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, cash flow, balances) to identify trends and ensure accuracy.
• Perform reconciliations across sheets to maintain data consistency and resolve discrepancies.
• Enhance existing reports for improved functionality, accuracy, and visual appeal.
• Propose innovative approaches for data analysis, reporting formats, and process improvements.
• Create visualizations and dashboards in Google Sheets/Excel (e.g., charts, pivot tables) to communicate insights effectively.
• Collaborate with finance and other teams to align data processes and deliver actionable insights.
• Translate business requirements into tailored financial reports for stakeholders.
• Document processes, workflows, and data validations for transparency and maintainability.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analysis, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in financial data analysis, reconciliations, and building reports in Google Sheets/Excel.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel formulas (e.g., QUERY, LOOKUP [V-, H-, X-], FILTER, MATCH) with a focus on performance optimization.
• Basic knowledge of Google Apps Script for maintaining automation scripts (e.g., data imports, protections).
• Familiarity with financial data collection, cleaning, validation, and large dataset management.

Desired:

• Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel for creating visualizations and dashboards.
• Experience with BI platforms (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI) for reporting and visualization.

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Good communication skills for gathering requirements and presenting insights.
