CAD Designer / Revit in Trapani Architects

Trapani + Associates’ radiation shielding engineering division is seeking a CAD/Revit Designer that will report to Senior Shielding Designers and the Director of Engineering. The Designer will primarily be responsible for design, drafting, and management of a range of shielding projects for healthcare, research, and industrial applications. You will be trained in radiation design by one of the top radiation design groups in the world. No prior radiation shielding experience necessary; however, it is imperative that you have a strong desire to learn, acute attention to detail, and solid critical thinking skills. Standard training duration is one to two years while you are introduced to shielding design, begin to implement your training, and are accelerated to more challenging project types.CAD Designer/Revit QualificationsAssociates degree with coursework in drafting/design a plus1 to 3 years of experience in Architecture, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferredTechnical proficiency in building construction, techniques, and materials; understanding of design, materials, and constructionSkilled knowledge of 2D and 3D (REVIT) AutoCAD software for architectural or structural design, rendering, detailing, and project management purposes, emphasizing in steel and concrete constructionWorking knowledge of basic project management principles and time management as it relates to design budgetsStrong ability to design within stringent budgets and schedulesStrong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate the intent of a design graphically and verballyAbility to apply common sense to solve problems and make decisions in non-standard situationsWorking knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.Team player with strong interpersonal skillsCAD Designer/Revit Key ResponsibilitiesUtilize AutoCAD and Revit to prepare construction documentsWork closely with Project Managers and Executives, physicists, architects, contractors, and structural engineers to develop tailormade radiation shielding designsProduce and implement design and construction documents, packages, and sketches using standard shielding design procedures, means, and methods based on sketches or ideas from othersAbility to handle design problems and show a high degree of drafting ability with project organization experienceFrequent coordination, communication, and/or problem solving within the project teamManagement of up to 5-10 projects at a time, varying in size and complexityAnticipate and resolve potential construction challengesInterface with and manage consultants on RFI’s, review of proposals and contracts, and review of plans and specifications for coordination and compliance with design intentDevelop ideas resulting in improvements to existing methods, products, or servicesAbout Trapani + AssociatesFor over 40 years, Trapani + Associates has led the field in architectural planning and design, specializing in custom solutions for the healthcare, Industrial and Research fields.
